MEET MICHAEL
Hello there,
I’m Michael
Master of Dietetics Studies, Bachelor of Exercise and Nutrition Science.
ABOUT ME
Hey there,
I’m Michael Wilson
My clinical focus is on eating disorders and disordered eating, disorders of gut-brain interaction (DGBI), and the complex presentations where food, body, and identity intersect.
Alongside my work at Nutrition for Living, I’m an Accredited Practising Dietitian at a Brisbane tertiary hospital, where I work with complex and high-acuity presentations every day. That hospital experience shapes how I practise here too: nothing about food, body, or health is ever as simple as it looks on the surface, and I bring that same level of care to every client I see.
My clinical focus is on eating disorders and disordered eating, disorders of gut-brain interaction (DGBI), and the complex presentations where food, body, and identity intersect. I’m trauma-informed in everything I do, and I take that seriously, not as a buzzword, but as a genuine commitment to making sure every client feels safe before we talk about anything else.
I’m also a proud LGBTQIA+ advocate and an affirming practitioner for queer and gender-diverse clients. Inclusive, judgement-free care isn’t an add-on for me, it’s the baseline. I want every person who sits across from me to feel like they can be honest about what’s actually going on, without fear of being judged for their body, their symptoms, or their relationship with food.
I’m low-FODMAP trained and see a good number of clients for gut health and chronic disease prevention, so if IBS, bloating, or ongoing digestive symptoms are part of the picture, that’s very much within my wheelhouse too. Whatever brings you in, my approach is the same: evidence-based, collaborative, and centred around you as a whole person not just a diagnosis.
I work closely with Annabel and Grace here at Nutrition for Living, and with GPs and specialists more broadly, because the best outcomes happen when your care team is actually talking to each other rather than working in isolation. If you’ve seen a few clinicians already and feel like no one’s quite joined the dots, a collaborative approach is exactly what I bring to the table.
I’m available for dietitian consults via Telehealth on Monday evenings, from 5:30 to 7:30pm, which I know can make a real difference if you’re juggling work or other commitments during the day. If any of this sounds like what you need, I’d love to help.

Healing Your Gut and Understanding
Your Nutrition Starts Here
HOW WE WORK
Nutrition, Health & Wellbeing Start Here: First Steps to Food Freedom
Finding the right support for your gut health shouldn’t feel complicated. Here’s what working with a gut health dietitian looks like from first call to ongoing care.
STEP 1
Reach Out
We’ll match you with a dietitian that suits your needs, whether that’s gut health, women’s health or something else.
STEP 2
Your First Consult
This is where we really get to know you and what you need. Expect a thorough, non-judgmental conversation to help develop meal plans that truly suit your lifestyle and needs. We’ll take a look at your history, your goals and what we can do moving forward.
STEP 3
A Plan Built Around You
You’ll leave with clear, practical next steps, not a list of foods to fear or impractical meal plans. Every recommendation is evidence-based and tailored to fit your routine, your preferences, and your body.
STEP 4
Ongoing, Collaborative Care
Real change takes time, not a one-and-done single appointment. We’ll check in, adjust your plan as your needs change, and work alongside your GP or specialist where that’s helpful. You’re supported for the long run, not just the first visit.

FEELING READY?
Ready to Feel Like Yourself Again?
You don’t have to keep guessing. Book a consult and let’s create a plan that actually works for your body, your life, and your goals.
